DELTA Fiber announces that Marco Visser will step down as CEO effective June 1, 2026. Stefan Fuchs, currently with Sunrise in Switzerland, will succeed Visser as CEO of DELTA Fiber. After nine years at the helm of DELTA, Visser will join the company’s Non-Executive Board.
Under Marco Visser’s leadership, DELTA Fiber transformed from a regional cable company in the province of Zeeland into a national telecommunications provider with fiber-optic networks across the Netherlands. More than €2 billion has been invested in the rollout of new fiber networks, expanding DELTA’s reach from 170,000 to 1.7 million homes and businesses nationwide.
Consumers and businesses are served with digital services through DELTA’s own retail brand, as well as through wholesale partnerships with companies including Odido and Ziggo. With the deployment of next-generation fiber technology, XGS-PON, DELTA has been recognized by nPerf as the fastest internet provider in the Netherlands for three consecutive years.
Marco Visser said: “I am extremely proud of what the DELTA Fiber team has accomplished. Over the past nine years, we have developed DELTA into a strong and fast-growing fiber player and a nationwide provider offering the fastest internet in the Netherlands. I have full confidence that under Stefan Fuchs’s leadership, the company will enter its next phase of growth. I also look forward to remaining involved in DELTA’s continued success in my new role on the Non-Executive Board.”
Stefan Fuchs will assume his new role as CEO of DELTA Fiber on June 1. In recent years, he served as Chief Consumer Officer at the Swiss telecom company Sunrise, where he was responsible for the growth of multiple retail brands. Prior to that, he spent 16 years with Liberty Global Group in various management roles across Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands and Germany. He is a former management consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton and holds a PhD degree. After years abroad, Stefan now returns to the Netherlands to lead DELTA Fiber into its next growth phase.
Stefan Fuchs said: “DELTA Fiber has a strong foundation, with a state-of-the-art fiber network and the fastest internet in the Netherlands. I look forward to building on the company’s continued development and to elevating DELTA jointly to the next level, with a clear focus on customer growth and commercial excellence. I am also excited to return to the Netherlands, where I not only loved to study but also to work for several years.”
