On February 23, the shareholders of DELTA N.V. approved the sale of the Retail organization of DELTA N.V. to the infrastructure fund EQT. The acquisition price is EUR 488 million. The transaction will take place through a transfer of the shares in DELTA Comfort B.V. (including DELTA Kabelcomfort Netten B.V. and ZeelandNet B.V.) to EQT Infrastructure. DELTA Retail will retain the names DELTA and ZeelandNet and will remain based in Zeeland.

Gerard Uytdewilligen, CEO DELTA N.V.*. about the agreement on the sale: 'Shareholder approval is good news for the company, for the customer and for Zeeland. Developments in the energy market and the mandatory unbundling make it necessary to restructure and sell parts. But in this scenario, which works out well for both DELTA N.V. and the employees involved, this Zeeland company can continue to build for the future. That is positive.”

Harko Buringh, General Manager DELTA: “With the new owner, DELTA will continue as DELTA. As an independent company it is now possible for DELTA to grow further. DELTA will also be able to offer its customers the benefits of the unique combination of energy and digital services more often in the future. DELTA will therefore remain the Zeeland supplier of electricity, gas, internet, television and other digital services in the future. We will continue to cherish our regional involvement. For example, DELTA continues to contribute to initiatives that help Zeeland and Zeeland move forward through the DELTA Zeeland Fund and various other (sponsor) activities.'
